Question 1: Booksellers and Libraries

darienlibrary asked: What do booksellers REALLY think of libraries?

Ooh! A strong one to start with! Well, Kevin and I may be different than your average booksellers because we’ve both spent significant time working in libraries, but we love them. Love. Romantic love, definitely.

Obviously bookstores are set up to sell books, but booksellers go into the business because they love books and stories and want as many people as possible to have them. Certainly not because they want to be millionaires. :) Anything that gives people access to books and information can only be a good thing for bookstores! Maybe someone reads a book at a library and loves it and buys their own- or maybe they recommend it to their friends- or maybe as a child they catch the reading bug and start their own personal library- who knows! But I think bookstores and libraries go hand in hand and can only help each other.
